Terms governing use of the Lexote mobile application

1. Parties and Acceptance

These terms govern use of the Lexote mobile application (the “App”) between the person using it (the “User”) and its provider, Eyup Zarifoğlu (referred to as “Lexote” in these terms). By downloading the App, creating an account or using it as a guest, you are deemed to accept these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

2. Description and Nature of the Service

Lexote is a supporting tool for lawyers and legal professionals, offering note-taking, deadline tracking, reminders and voice notes.

The App does not provide legal advice. The deadline calculator provides information based on the User’s inputs and the rules defined in the App (weekends, public and religious holidays, and the judicial recess). Religious holiday dates may be approximate for a given calendar year, and legislation may change. The User is responsible for the final verification of deadlines, holidays and procedural rules, and for the consequences of decisions based on calculations made through the App.

The App does not replace the User’s professional obligations, including deadline tracking, case management and compliance with professional rules.

3. Accounts and Guest Use

  • You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide and the security of your account.
  • You must not share your account details with third parties. Actions performed through your account are attributed to you.
  • The App is not available to anyone under 18.
  • In guest mode, data is stored under an anonymous ID linked to your device. If you uninstall the App or sign out of the guest session, access to the data is permanently lost and cannot be recovered. We recommend creating an account to retain access.

4. User Content and Client Data

You retain ownership of all content you enter into the App. Lexote has a limited right to process this content solely to provide the service (storage, synchronisation, backups and reminders). Your content is not used for advertising, training or analysis.

For client data entered into the App, the User is the data controller and Lexote acts as a data processor. The User is responsible for informing clients, ensuring an appropriate legal basis and complying with the duty of confidentiality under Article 36 of the Turkish Attorneys’ Act. For details, see the Privacy Policy.

5. Rules of Use

The following are prohibited:

  • Using the App for unlawful purposes or uploading content that infringes third-party rights;
  • Accessing or attempting to access another person’s account without authorisation;
  • Testing or bypassing system security, reverse engineering, or using automated tools to overload the system;
  • Copying, distributing or creating derivative works from the App’s source code or content without permission.

Your account may be suspended or closed if you breach these rules.

6. Reminders and Availability

Reminder notifications are scheduled mainly on your device. Timely delivery cannot be guaranteed. Delivery may be affected by operating system restrictions, battery-saving settings, disabled notification permissions, a switched-off device or lack of internet connectivity. Do not rely solely on notifications for critical deadlines.

The service may be temporarily interrupted for maintenance, updates or reasons attributable to infrastructure providers. Uninterrupted or error-free operation is not promised.

7. Pricing

The App is currently free. If paid features are introduced in future, their price, scope and cancellation terms will be announced in advance. Purchases will be made through the Apple App Store or Google Play and will be subject to the relevant store’s rules and refund policy.

8. Intellectual Property

The App’s software, design, brand and content belong to Lexote and are protected by intellectual property law. The User is granted a personal, non-transferable right to use the App, subject to compliance with these terms.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided “as is”. To the extent permitted by law, no express or implied warranty is given regarding fitness for a particular purpose, uninterrupted or error-free operation, or the accuracy of calculations in every situation.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by law, Lexote is not liable for loss of profit, loss of data, missed deadlines or indirect loss. This does not affect liability arising from Lexote’s wilful misconduct or gross negligence, or your rights under consumer law.

The User is responsible for backing up their own data and independently verifying critical deadlines.

11. Termination

You can delete your account and data within the App at any time. Lexote reserves the right to suspend or terminate an account for breach of these terms. After termination, data is deleted according to the retention periods in the Privacy Policy.

12. Changes

These terms may be updated. The current version is published on this page, with the update date at the top. Significant changes are announced within the App. Continuing to use the App after an announcement means that you accept the updated terms.

13. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye. Where the User qualifies as a consumer, disputes fall within the jurisdiction of the consumer arbitration committees and consumer courts. In other cases, the courts and enforcement offices with jurisdiction under the general rules shall have jurisdiction.
